Madara Vimba migrated to the UK at a young age and to stay connected to her Latvian-ness she would engage with character creation chatrooms, connecting with other players online. A performance work titled Blue Lips has been reworked into a video installation, where the character appears onscreen – a version of the Self that does not exist in the real world.
Oliver Ventress grew up in an age of emerging online flash-player games, which he would play on the home computer. With a practice combining video, sculpture and installation, Oliver explores philosophies of being as a medium, often rooted in alienation and escapism.
Collaborating for the first time, Madara and Oliver play with concepts of seeking connection in a world without the limitations of reality.
