The Ventress Test (i and ii)

Series of collaborative documented performances and experiments (2019)

The Ventress Test is a project of three parts. Artists Rob Britt and Oliver Ventress collaborated to attempt to make contact with alien lifeforms, or beings from parallel dimensions, with the ultimate aim of performing a para-terrestrial seance. They conducted a recruitment evening, asking willing participants to come forward and be tested for their psionic resonance and alternate communicative abilities (i). Later, four successful applicants were invited to GP Studios, Lincoln, to be involved in the study, whereby frequency readings were taken, sounds recorded and CCTV set up to document any unusual occurrences (ii). The third part will involve the production of a publication, to formally expose the findings as an experiment of scientific interest.
